In Memory of Lynn Biss

The Daddy-Os have lost one of their biggest fans, Lynn Biss. Lynn was not only our biggest fan, he was our video guy / photographer for many years! Lynn spent countless hours video taping, editing video for our DVDs, editing photos for our promotional material, producing our promotional DVD, the list goes on! Nobody worked harder for the Daddy-Os than Lynn! Lynn was responsible for organizing our entire video crew, which consisted of himself, his wife Kathy, and his good friends Richard and Liz Mathias! He will be missed! The Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os would like to send our thoughts and prayers out to his most wonderful wife, Kathy, and his son, Kevin. You guys have always been there for us, and now we'd like to be there for you! Lynn is now smiling down on us all from Heaven, and we'd like to dedicate all our remaining shows to the memory of our very dear friend and band-mate, Lynn Biss.

One of the last things we received from Lynn was his testimony about The Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os to use on our website. That particular correspondence from Lynn is now invaluable to us. Here is what Lynn had to say.........

Hey Daddy-Os,

I have been a long time fan of the Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os since the first time I saw you all at the Kirby, in Roxboro.  An acquaintance mentioned the Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os, and thought I might enjoy the show.    I remember the trip to Roxboro with another couple discussing the group name “Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os” and agreeing that it seemed a bit “over the top”.    After the show, on the way back, the car was full of chatter about how great the Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os were and how it ain’t bragging if you can do it!   We have seen most of the Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os shows, ever since, and become huge Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os fans!

Over the years I have had the pleasure of meeting each of you at various shows.   I especially appreciate your audience interaction.   Based on that, I don’t think I could pick a favorite Daddy-O or act.  I consider each of you to be a star and love the way you all carry the show at different points.   You all cover such a broad range of music and entertainment, most of  my favorites vary with the type of music.   Robin is one of the hardest working drummers I have ever seen.  I don’t know if he can sing or not, but he sure can whip the crowd into a frenzy just by banging on those drums!    Randy is a great keyboard player, singer and guitar player.  He does a great Travis Tritt imitation, his Sonny imitation will keep you laughing through the whole skit, and as Jerry Lee Lewis really gets the audience pumped up!   Dale never misses a beat on the bass, has a great voice and is dynamite as Lynyrd Skynyrd!   Tracy is kind of difficult to describe, because he seems so normal in person, but when the spotlight cuts on he becomes one of the most entertaining individuals I have ever seen.   A couple of his routines will keep you in stitches, no matter how many times you have seen them!  When Tracy comes to sing, dance and play, everybody is going to have a good time!   Its kind of like “hey y’all, watch this”!   Pat is the “Fender bender” leader of the band and one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.   He has a great voice, is never rattled, and his delivery is absolutely spontaneous.  His Elvis impersonation is very moving, and even if, like me, your not a big Elvis fan you will find yourself on your feet cheering.

All the Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os are stars in their own right, but when they perform together its like some kind of critical mass is achieved.   I would advise anyone who has not had the pleasure of attending a Fabulous Hot Dog Daddy-Os show to go early and often!

Lynn

I don't think we told Lynn often enough how much he meant to all of us, and how much we appreciated all

his hard work for the band. So, tonight before you go to bed, hug your child, wife, husband, father or mother,

and let them know how much they mean to you! It could be the last chance you have to tell them how much

you love them! Lynn, you were an inspiration to all of us, and we wouldn't be where we are today without you!

In heaven, I hope my mansion is right next to yours!
